Coty was born in Gibraltar where she attended Hebrew School at Talmud Torah Elementary. She attended St. Joseph’s High School. In 1970 she attended a 2 year full time college, the Gibraltar College where she graduated with honors with 7 certificates from the Royal Society of Arts in Commerce.

She is bilingual and speaks fluent Spanish and English. Coty’s employment background is in business administration and sales management.

She was a Naval Reservist for HMS Calpe at the age of 18. Coty worked for the local Government as a stenographer for ten years before immigrating to the US in 1983.

Coty became a volunteer with the North County Jewish Seniors Club from January 2014-June 2016 and created its monthly newsletter.

She is the past co-president of Chofit, a North County coastal chapter of Hadassah and she is a Life Member of its 300,000 Women’s membership worldwide.

Coty is presently a member of Altrusa International of San Diego, North County Coastal, a Woman’s organization. She completed the Secretary position the first year and she now holds the Membership and Fundraising Chairs.

Married in 1975 Coty and her husband Jacob honeymooned in San Diego. After seven years their immigration Visa arrived and they immigrated to San Diego in 1983 with their 11 month-old baby daughter, Leah. In 1987 they welcomed a second child, Mark. Coty has two sisters who reside in San Diego and a twin sister who resides in Gibraltar.

Her daughter Leah works full time at a Financial Institute in Solana Beach, California.. Her son Mark is presently re-directing efforts to establish a new career. Her husband Jacob is semi-retired and works part-time as a Transportation Agent.

Coty is a Motivational Speaker and enjoys speaking engagements. She is an accomplished speaker and holds an Advanced Communicator Silver Award through Toastmasters International, a communications and speaking program focusing on listening skills as well.

In 1996 Coty was awarded a Honorary Service Award from the California State PTA for Outstanding Service to Children.

At the age of 53 Coty went back to school to obtain a Certificate in Business Management from the University of California, San Diego, Extension.

At the age of 55 Coty retired from UCSD as a full-time Administrative Assistant for the School of Medicine, Stein Institute for Research on Aging.

In 2008, she became a Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher and in 2012 a 200-Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher. Coty teaches a monthly Hatha Yoga Class at the Vista Library and is looking into giving new private beginner Yoga classes in a home in Vista.

Coty is the author of Unremitting Solace, a self-improvement publication about the universal language of understanding and compassion which includes 18 chapters, 18 quotes and 52 poems. Coty’s goal is to continue presenting to audiences that are interested in self-development. She also supports start-ups to her book as in monthly Book Clubs around the County of San Diego to interested groups.

Some of her interests are swimming, the outdoors, traveling, dance, Yoga practice and living fully into her highest potential as a friend, family member, human being and volunteer.
